DIY: Statement Jumper

Hi all, I hope you're well this fine Wednesday! Today's post is a DIY statement jumper. In store it can be expensive to purchase a jumper with embellishment on it. I had a necklace that I love, I only got to wear it once and it broke. I have kept it ever since hoping to fix it but I never did. So, I thought why not add it onto one of my jumpers. It's super easy and personalising your jumper to your style!

What you will need:

A jumper or top you don't mind using.

A broken necklace or any embellishment you want to add, as long as you're able to sew it on.

A needle and thread matching/ similar colour to the jumper or top. Also a pair of scissors. And there you go... Your DIY jumper is complete. It took me an hour to do this DIY because I kept on playing around with different places I could place the necklace. Until I was happy I started sewing it on.

Here's the final look. I paired the jumper with jeans and nude heels to match the pink tones in the necklace.

Details: Necklace from Forever 21 (old), Jeans from River Island (old), shoes from Dorothy Perkins (old) and jumper from New Look (old).

I hope you like this post! Leave a comment let me know what you think :)

Thank you, until next time...

Chanel and Roses

Happy Sunday all!  Even though the sun isn’t shinning I hope you’re all having a good day. I am having a pampering/ lazy day. I woke up today at 12pm in the afternoon which is quite late I know but considering it’s a lazy Sunday anything goes. For breakfast I had a toast with Nutella and a cup of tea. I am such a tea lover. I have recently been into DIY projects, I love working on projects it allows me to be creative. I came across Anne Le's YouTube Chanel 'Anneorshine'; if you haven’t already watched her videos go watch them. I ABSOLUTELY love them! I was so inspired that I decided to create my own canvas with the Chanel logo and roses design. I love Chanel I'm so inspired by her story of how she made it in life. I watched a  film a couple of months back telling the story of Chanel, it touched my heart. She inspires me to keep doing what I love. The painting took me four hours to create but I am happy with the result. I made it for one of my best friend’s birthday gift. I wanted to give a gift that was creative and I know she appreciates art. When I gave it to her she loved it, which made me happy that she liked the gift. When I have the time I will create another one for me but in different colours to match my bedroom decor.
What you will need:
A canvas
(Any size you prefer)
Acrylic Paint
(Any colours you like)
Paint Brushes
Glitter

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous" Coco Chanel

Hi all, sorry that this post is late. I have been working so much overtime at work I don’t get the chance to write because I am just so tired. I have finally had a chance to sit down and write to my heart’s content. To be honest I have had many ideas of what this post could be about but I have decided to write about my search for the perfect shoes for work. Since I have started my not so new job (I have been there for 4 months) which is not long but it feels like forever. The shoes I currently have were from Aldo and I love these shoes but they’re not designed for comfort. My job requires me to be on my feet all day. So, I decided to go out and have a look for comfortable shoes that my feet will thank me for. I went into Clarks and the shoes are comfortable but I’m really fussy because I like to have it all ... I want comfortable shoes, suitable for the rain and looks fashionable. But I wasn’t going to get fashionable looking shoes at Clarks... just comfort. I went into Aldo but that wasn’t any success because the insoles were not cushioned. The shoes were definitely fashionable, just not comfortable. I went to BHS, NEXT, DEBENHAMS, NEW LOOK, and DOROTHY PERKINS I still walked away with nothing. At this point I was getting frustrated because I didn’t understand why shoes are made without having the comfort factor. Anyway, I thought I had to settle for comfortable shoes that looked okay instead of Fabulous. My other option was to get shoes and buy insoles for extra comfort but I thought why settle when I won’t be happy.  The next day before work I had time so, I popped into Kurt Geiger and had a look around. I found a pair that I really like but usually Brogues (mousey shoes is what I call them) don’t suit me. I tried them on anyway, to my surprise they were everything I was looking for, they are comfortable, they protect me from the rain and they look FAB! I love them! Being on my feet all day they still hurt but to make the shoes extra comfy I am going to get insoles but they are still comfy in comparison to other shoes I tried on. These shoes are expensive but I think they were worth it! This is just my opinion but if you have found shoes that are comfortable for work let me know!  Here’s a little tip when looking for shoes for work make sure they have a small heel then your feet isn’t too flat on the floor. Look for a cushioning insole most shoes have them and that’s it.
Shoes:  Kurt Geiger Luxe (£65.00)

Happy Spring Cleaning!!!

Happy Wednesday all!!! The sun is shining and I'm writing my post in the garden. It's such a beautiful day, why waste it indoors. So, I thought I will sit in the garden and enjoy the rays of the sun as I type. I hope you are all well. Today has been a productive day, I did some spring cleaning. I got rid of all the things I have sitting in the garage that is gathering dust and no longer serves a purpose to me. I believe in getting rid of the old to create space for the new. It feels so good to physically clear out my things cause I feel like my life is in order to some extent! I even cleared out my handbag, I don't know how but I gather so much rubbish like receipts, sweet wrappers ... just junk. I don't know about you girls but I can never find anything in my handbag, no matter how hard I try to keep it organized. If you girls know any organizing tips to keep your handbag clutter free let me know! The worst mistake I make is I always keep things thinking I will need that particular item at some point in my life and in all honestly I never need it. So I would advise just throw it out right there and then. If you haven't used it within a couple of months or a year most likely you never will. when throwing things out you need to be harsh and be a critic of your own things. If you're not sure ask a friend / relative for their advice. If the items are still in good condition I like to give them to charity someone else's junk is someone else's treasure they always say! So happy spring cleaning physically, mentally and emotionally. Let go of things that no longer make you happy. It's a new year lets make this year the best. Let go of the past and especially the old items in your closet, garage or other storage places. I hope you like this post! Leave a comment below.

Thanks, until next time...

A Gift in a Jar

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday; the sun is shining and it was such a lovely day. Today I made plans to see one of my best friends that I have known since high school. I met up with her at Covent Garden as that’s one of our favourite places to be. I wanted to take her to Maison Laduree for lunch as a birthday treat as she’s never been there before and I knew she would love it as much as I do.  After lunch we wondered around Covent Garden going into our favourite shops such as Chanel, Dior, Ted Baker, Michael Kors, The Sunglasses Hut and Urban Outfitters.  I went into The Sunglasses Hut because I am thinking of spoiling myself and getting a new pair of sunnies. I have found a pair I like but I am still thinking about them. If you have any suggestions on a great pair of sunnies I should get let me know! I just wanted to share my day with you but onto today’s post which is about a gift in a jar. I went out yesterday to get all the items you will need to do this; I actually gave this to my best friend as a gift for her birthday this year as I was feeling creative. I got this idea off Pinterest I am absolutely obsessed with the app but I have added my own twist. I love this idea because it's so simple yet thoughtful. A lot of thought goes into the filling of the jar because you're filling it with little cute things you know your friend or whoever you're going to give it to will love. If you're looking for a thoughtful gift that doesn't cost too much this is a great idea!
What I have: A Jar, Millions, Ferrero Rocher, Mini Makeup Brushes+Case, Rimmel London nail polishes in the colour yellow and torquoise. Ice Cream lipglosses. All of this I got for a £1 at the PoundStore which is a bargain. The face masks I got a Superdrug they were on a 3 for 2 deal (I think they were £0.99 but I'm not sure) and the Sour Starburts were £0.70 at Tesco which is really good considering they're like £2 something.

What I did was I put the face masks in first then I put some Starburts in so they were at the bottom. Then I put the bigger items in like the Millions and the Mini makeup brushes+case. I added the nail polishes so they sat on either side of the jar, I opened the packet of Ferrero Rocher and put them in the jar. At this point there is a little space left, I put the lip glosses in too. The remaining space I had, I filled with more Starburts. I didn't have time to make a tag but if I did I would have written 'Treat Yourself' which pretty much sums up the content in this jar. I found some pretty ribbon around the house and added that as my finishing touch to the gift.

This is the final result. The pretty card is from the PoundStore too. It comes blank so you can write your long special message or you can keep it sweet and short.

What you need:

1. A jar or a cute mug of your choice, you need something to put all the items in.

2. You're filling -anything that you know the person will like.

3. A cute ribbon or you can get even more creative and decorate your jar with stickers, washi tape, glitter, paint etc I just went simple with a ribbon.

And your gift is ready!!!! Have fun with this  and be creative.

Enchanted

Hey there dolls!!! I hope you are well. Sorry about the late post I have been waiting for my pictures that I modelled for to be sent to me so that I could see the final result and honestly I love them! I had so much fun taking the pictures and being in a beautiful location. Yes, it was stressful because outfit changes are just not fun! Especially in Indian outfits, they are easy to get into but taking them off is whole another level and walking in high heels on uneven ground is not fun either but I have had a great experience. The best part of the shoot was that I got to take pictures with my best friend!!! It was a lovely day on Saturday 5th of this month which was great for when doing an outdoor photoshoot. We were lucky there was no rain it was quite windy that day and my hair kept on blowing in my face.  I can't tell you how much I laughed that day, I have made memories that I will treasure forever. Here's one of my silly moments I would like to share from that day, I'm someone who falls over mostly all the time. I'm really clumsy, at the time I was running in high heels kicking a football that day (not a good idea). I don't know what I was thinking ...I guess I wasn't thinking at all I fell over onto the grass and I started laughing. My friends were just standing there laughing at me too! Typical me always falling over. After the photoshoot my friend and I went to Chiquitos for dinner which was a perfect way to end a great day. I even had a cheeky cocktail (Cosmopolitian) it was delish!

My friend Duane is such a talented person not only does he film projects that we collaborate together but he also films other projects independently. Not only does he do that he also takes beautiful pictures and captures the moment in one click. I do recommend you checking out his Facebook page 'Major Frames' the link is below: https://m.facebook.com/majorframes

I love his photography and I love how the pictures have turned out! I hope you have enjoyed reading my post and I hope you love the pictures as much as I do!!! Please leave a comment below telling me what you think, I would love to know!!!!

Thank you, until next time...

Minnie Mouse: Nail Wraps

I hope you all are having a lovely Sunday. I am having a relaxing one, staying in and watching movie after movie. So far, just watched ‘The Family Man,’ ‘A Bug’s Life’ and now ‘Monster-in-law’ sometimes it’s just nice to put your feet up, have a hot coco and watch movies you haven’t seen in ages with your loved ones. Today’s post is about Minnie Mouse nail wraps that I bought at the PoundStore. I love everything Disney and especially Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. It’s a bargain that I got the nail wraps for a £1 since I love to do my nails. I filed my nails to the shape I wanted I like my nails to be square. With the nail wraps they come in different sizes so measure the nail wrap to your nail size and then peel off the sheet. Place it onto your nails then with your nail filer use it to cut off the excess wrap. I think these nail wraps are great for when you are going to a day out or for one night. This nail wrap does not last longer than two days and when you are washing your hands during the day the nail wrap comes right off your nails. I think this nail wrap is great for one day/night. It’s perfect if you are looking for a quick and easy nail look without having to wait for your nails to dry.  I do recommend trying these out and you can’t go wrong with spending only a £1.

These are the two designs that the PoundStore has. Both £1 each.
      Pics of my right hand.

    My left hand.
It's not perfect but I think they look good for my first try. Stay tuned for my blog post for this Wednesday discussing and sharing pictures of my photoshoot. I hope you like this post, leave a comment let me know what you think! Also don't forget to follow my blog :)
Thank you, until next time...

How to arrange an AUDITION

I have written a drama series called S.I.K.H (Silence, I Killed Her) and I was holding auditions for actors/actresses. I have never held an audition before until this, I have learnt a lot from this experience of what worked and what didn’t work. I would like to share my experience and some helpful tips on how to arrange an audition.
1)      The first thing is you need a space to hold the auditions. I held my audition at Pineapple Studios for an hour which was not the best of ideas because when holding auditions you need the whole day. Even get creative and hold a mini reading session at a Coffee shop like Starbucks. I found that this is a great way to hear the actors read their lines and a great way to see that they can adapt to any situation.
2)      Once you have your space start advertising your audition date, location, characters ethnicity, age, what your project is about and any other relative specifics. Use social media like Facebook, Twitter, Gumtree and make posters to advertise. Advertise as much as you can this is important to make sure you have a lot of actors/ actresses to come along. I would say advertise for a good 3weeks, a month or even longer.
3)      When you are holding auditions it is good to film the actors/actresses to watch back and to decide who is best suited for the role.
4)      Make sure you have a list of questions to ask the actors/actresses. Such as their availability for rehearsals, filming etc.
5)      I would also suggest to have an understudy for the main characters, just in case the main actor/actress is unable to attend a rehearsal/filming/stage least you have someone to fill in and the production is not put to a hold.
6)      Hold as many auditions as you need until you have all your actors/ actresses to play the role of your characters.

I hope this helped these are the things that I have learned from my fail attempts of holding auditions and only few people turning up. Be patient it takes time but you will get there in the end. If you have any tips or been to an audition yourself leave a comment I would love to know!
Thank you, until next time...
