a POP of PINK!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend; I have had an eventful weekend actually. On Saturday I was surprised that I woke up at 6.40am, normally I get up at 10am. But for some strange reason I couldn’t go back to sleep so, I used this to my advantage and had a productive day. I had my breakfast, watched a little bit of TV and I started with my usual weekend cleaning of the house. I like to clean; I find it is a great way to distress. I don’t know... I could be weird and it’s only me who thinks like this. After the cleaning session, seeing it’s such a beautiful day and the sun was shining I didn’t want to waste a nice day indoors. My sister and I got ready to go out to do a few errands as well as enjoy the day and go shopping! Stay tuned for an upcoming post about all the things we got! Beauty and nail products is mostly what we bought, I will also do a review on them too! I absolutely love my outfit! I love how a simple hot pink blazer can turn such a dull and boring outfit to fabulously stylish. It’s perfect for a day out in the sun, shopping or hanging out with your loved ones. Stay bright and stand out in the crowds. I hope you like this post and this outfit as much as I love it!

A day to remember: The Brow Arch March

On Sunday 9th March of this year my sister and two of my friends took part in Benefit’s Brow Arch March for a charity called ‘Look Good Feel Better’ that helps women to raise their self confidence whilst going through their treatments for Cancer. I am so happy that I got to support such a wonderful cause with my family and friends by my side. My sister and I had an early start that day we woke up at 6:00am and did our regular morning routine. I decided to wear jogger bottoms with a comfy t-shirt whilst my sister opted for leggings, a t-shirt and we both wore a hoodie. Even though it was a hot day, in the morning it was cold and we wore our trainers as our sensible footwear for the day. We had a healthy breakfast, I made sandwiches for us to eat later on in the day and we took bottles of water with us so, that we stay hydrated whilst our 5k walk. We left the house at 7:30am and made our way to meet my friends at the station so, we could all walk together to the event that was being held at Berkeley Square, Mayfair for 10am. It was a long journey by train from where we live, on the train my sister was being productive and was making notes on everything she revised (for her upcoming test at the time). I was just sitting there on the train wishing I had brought my headphones to listen to music but the time passed and we finally were at the station. We both greeted my friends and we made our way. As we were walking we saw Vera Wang’s store and the dress that was in the film ‘Bride Wars’ worn by Kate Hudson was in the shop window. Even though we all live and was brought up in London there is always something that we never have seen before. This makes us feel like tourist which is what I love about London. Once we arrived, we registered and gave our donation of £10 each. We received a pink, glamorous, glittery t-shirt to wear whilst our walk with the Brow Arch March logo. We also got a number, a map of the route of our journey, a bottle of water, badges and a Benefit make-up bag to put our goodies in, once we stop off at the check points. We were in the group with actress Kara Tointon, she is so lovely and I even got a selfie with her! The day was just beautiful, the sun was shining, and the view as we walked through London was amazing! And being with beautiful people makeup-less was beyond amazing the idea behind this was as we stop off at each checkpoint you’re given a sample product of Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ mascara, Benefit’s ‘Loli-tint’, a choice of their lip glosses and you do your make-up as you go along if you wish. We chose not to, we kept it in our make-up bag. This was an experience that I will never forget; it was great to be a part of a great cause, supporting and celebrating women. Just doing a little goes a long way and the feeling you get when you know you were a part of something that can help others is the best feeling. If you missed out on this year... make sure you don’t MISS OUT next year!!!! And if you did go this year comment below and let me know how your experience was I would love to know!

Thank you, until next time...

Hello Sunshine

The weather has been dark, grey, raining and just miserable. So, I thought why not post something that will make your day. The weather usually depicts how I am feeling, if the weather is beautiful and sunny I am in a great mood but when it is like this how it is today my mood is just as bad as the weather. I feel like staying in and cosying up on the sofa with a blanket, a hot cup of coco in my favourite mug and to watch a film after film. But today is different even though the weather is gloomy I’m feeling happy and I guess that’s because I have found my sunshine, meaning I have found something that I love to do which is to blog and that makes me happy! I have wanted to expand my bracelet collection; I was in search for one that matched my Coach bracelet from the ‘Poppy Collection’ I have had it now for 3 years. I was having a look online to see which one would match perfectly and which brand I wanted. I looked on the Coach website I didn’t see anything that took my fancy so, I moved onto the next website. This was Kate Spade I really like her stuff they’re funky, colourful and different. I saw this beautiful bracelet it was bright hot pink with the words ‘oooh la la’ as soon as I saw it I knew that was the one I wanted for my collection. I am not a big fan of online shopping just because I like to have my items right there and then. I also love to have lots of shopping bags in my hands so, that I can see all the goodies I got myself instead of waiting 3-4 working days for my item. When I could I went to Westfeild in Sheppard’s Bush to Kate Spade to see if they had this item in stock and to see the item up close to see if I actually liked it. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it and I was disappointed.  I left and had a look in Coach to see their collections again nothing really appealed to me, I was in two minds about their bracelets they had instead I just left it and went home. A couple of weeks later I met up with my best friend for lunch and shopping at Westfeilds this time we ended up in Accessorize. Which I have not been to in a long time, I had a look around and I saw this bracelet in baby pink with the words ‘Hello Sunshine’. I knew right there and then I had to have it! It was perfect! I love the colour, pink is such a dominate colour in my wardrobe and I love the wording it’s perfect for summer. It wasn’t expensive, quite affordable its £8 and I saved £17 from not buying the Kate Spade bracelet. I think that this is a bargain! I am wearing this bracelet today and just looking at the words it makes me happy and I am a sucker for quotes. I love turning to quotes for any situation, especially positivity quotes. Just cause times in your life can be dark and gloomy or even outside always remember that there is happiness or sunshine waiting on the other side. What I love about this bracelet is that it reminds me to stay positive and be happy just because it’s horrible outside does not mean I should let that affect my mood. You are in control of your emotions and your happiness. Start to take control of your life rather than letting things bring you down. I hope you liked my post today and it cheered you up if you’re feeling down. Let me know in the comments if there is anything that you have that reminds you to be happy.
Thank you, until next time...

Makeup Heaven: For Very Dry Skin

It has come to that time where my everyday makeup collection had finished. I have been thinking for a while whether or not I wanted to try new products. I do have my main staple products that I am happy with and would not change. I have eczema so it’s very important to find products that hydrate my skin instead of leaving my skin feeling dry. The best moisturizer that I have used so far is from Benefit called ‘Total Moisture’ it’s a facial cream, that smells good, it’s really creamy and after you put in on, your face looks healthy and has a lovely glow. It is important to have a good moisturizer before applying your makeup as the facial cream is going to help with your skin looking and feeling hydrated. I never used a primer until I came across Clinique’s Super Primer which is 100% fragrance free which is perfect as it will not irritate or sting my skin. I have tried a lot of different foundations throughout my life and none of them worked as good as MAC’s foundation Studio Sculpt with SPF 15 and in the colour NC40 to match my skin tone. This foundation for me applies nicely; it has a good coverage and leaves my skin looking hydrated instead of highlighting my problem areas. From MAC I also use Studio Finish concealer in the colour NW30, Studio Careblend/pressed powder in medium plus and Fix + spray which refreshes and hydrate the finished look and help it to last longer especially for those nights out in the town with friends. I have been using Benefit the two in one bronzer and highlighter which I absolutely love but I found out that this product is discontinued. So, I was in search for a new bronzer, highlighter, blusher and lip gloss that plumps up your lips for the perfect pout. On my day out with Virginia at Covent Garden we went into MAC and I was not planning on buying all my makeup. It was more of the spur of the moment and I thought since I am here in MAC I might as well treat myself because I do need my everyday makeup essentials since they’re finished. If you have never been into a MAC store it’s really busy and the one in Covent Garden was not a huge space, it was so crowded. There were people getting makeup lessons, browsing through the makeup collections. I approached one of the MAC’s makeup artists she was so lovely, helpful and pointed out the great products I can’t wait to use! I got the Mineralize Skinfinish which can be used as a bronzer/ highlighter it’s called ‘Perfect Topping.’ I tried it on in-store it was so beautiful, the pigmentation, the way it highlighted my face and I had to have it! The mineralize blush in ‘Dainty’ again I tried this on and it is such a beautiful, shimmery pink and it looked divine on my cheeks. I love the colour and it’s perfect for summer. Now the lip gloss ... I have heard Soap and Glory’s plush lip glosses work great! But since I was in MAC I wanted to try their plush glosses and see how I liked them. I am pretty much obsessed with the colour coral, I tried on the plush gloss in ‘Big Kiss’ I didn’t immediately feel the tingling sensation I felt it after a couple of minutes and it did work. It didn’t make my lips look massive but it did make them a little bigger because I have small lips, so I was impressed. I loved the colour on me I can’t wait to start rocking my new lip gloss when the sunshine comes out a little more. Lastly, I got the MAC brush cleaner I have never used this before I usually use shampoo to clean my makeup brushes but I wanted to try this product and see how well this works. I am so excited for summer; I even got a new makeup bag to get me in the mood and to store all my new makeup essentials in! I am no expert these are just the products that I use and that have helped me. These products have been recommendations from people who work for MAC, Clinique and Benefit they have advised me what products are good to try for my very dry skin. If you have eczema/ very dry skin and if any of these products help you or you know of any products that have helped you please leave a comment below, I would love to know!
Thank you, until next time....

A day out in Covent Garden: The world of the fabulous

On Friday the 21st of this month I met up with one of my good friends Virginia who also blogs (if you haven’t already, check out her page misenscenelifestylev.blogspot.com). We had arranged to meet at Covent Garden and go for Afternoon Tea at Lameson Laduree, a place where she frequently goes to. It was my first time going to Lameson Laduree, as soon as I walked in I fell in love with the place. It was so quaint, charming, a little touch of Paris brought to central London. We sat outside as there were no seats available inside but outside was just as lovely as the inside. We had the sun shining down on us the wind blowing through my hair and street theatre for entertainment. It was such a lovely start to the day as well as catching up with my good friend who I have studied with at University. I ordered their ‘The Melange Special Laduree’ which is a Laduree blend tea scented with orange, rose, vanilla and cinnamon. This was the best tea I have ever tasted I added one lump of sugar to add more sweetness and all the flavours complimented each other. If you are someone who has a sweet tooth I definitely recommend you to try this tea, if I could buy this tea to make at home I so would. The tea was served in a lovely pastel coloured tea cup and saucer. I definitely felt posh for the day. We also ordered their French toast with syrup it was delicious, a little piece of heaven. The waiters/waitresses were so friendly it made the experience even more enjoyable and makes you want to go back there again as well as the food and tea! I am such a tea lover! After a good few hours of chatting away and enjoying the scenery that surrounded us we decided to walk around Covent Garden and have a look in Chanel, Dior, Burberry, The Royal Opera House and Mac! As we were walking around we were looking at all the products and services the stores provide such as makeup lessons etc. I have always wanted to blog but never knew what I would exactly write but after meeting up with Virginia who I admire, her blog inspires me and spending the day together and her showing me one of her favourite places. Discovering a place that I have never been to I decided that I want to write about my experiences, share my thoughts, my life and what better platform to do that on than a blog! So, here I am my first ever blog! I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it! Stay tuned for a collaboration between me and my soul sister Virginia on misenscenelifestylev.blogspot.com.
Thank you, until next time....
